Michael Canestraro

Michael Canestraro has enjoyed a varied and successful career as a Director, Choreographer, teacher and costumer. A graduate of Hofstra University with a BFA in Theater Arts, Mr. Canestraro also received an MA in Theater Arts from Long Island University. He also studied musical theater at the Manhattan School of Music.
Mike is a member of the New York State Theater Educators Association, Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab, Actor’s Equity Association and the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers. In 2003, he won the International Thespian Honor Society award for excellence in Theater Education in the State of New York.
Michael twice received the Innovation in Theater Award from STARS for outstanding theater department production on Long Island.
